About Me
My experience as a senior therapist in private practice I worked with primary school age children, elementary school age children, preadolescence and adolescence age children, as well as adults, and senior citizens. As the Lead therapist at a large mental health hospital, I am the creator and facilitator of the Adult General Mental Health Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs. Patients admitted are 18 years of age and older, with the eldest patient being 83 years old.
Whether working with clients in an outpatient private practice setting or with patients in a hospital environment, each and every client/patient is treated with the utmost dignity and respect in helping them acknowledge the presence of mental health and/or a substance related disorder/s.
I provide assessments, psychosocial evaluations, and treatment plans with individuals, couples, and families, forming a preliminary impression of the nature of the disorder to establish working diagnosis(es)., such as depression, anxiety, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, personality disorders, substance related disorders, neurological and cognitive disorders, schizophrenia, and other psychotic disorders. I also help clients with their end of life situations. I have created and facilitated successful Early Recovery Skills groups, Relapse Prevention Groups, Anger Management Groups, and Pain Management Groups.
I provide leadership and guidance using interventions that are eclectic in nature including cognitive-behavioral therapy, couple’s therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, family therapy, play therapy, supportive psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, psycho education, and trauma counseling. Client/Patients are also educated in acknowledging their challenges, problem solving, applying the learned skills, de-escalation, and creating a plan for better mental health.
I am extremely honored when clients/patients choose to work with me as their therapist and I take great pride in offering the assistance based on each individual needs.
